Seeds and Seedlings program

Uganda has one of the youngest and fastest growing populations worldwide, with about half of the people being under the age of 18. As a result, the nation faces the challenge of meeting the needs of its youth, many of whom reside in rural areas and have limited access to education, skills, and work opportunities. According to the latest census, youth constitute 80% of the country´s unemployed.

It is increasingly recognized that professional agriculture has the potential to generate income and drive economic growth in Uganda. However, the participation of youth in agriculture is limited. They often have a poor attitude towards farming and lack access to land, technical skills as well as knowledge on coping with the effects of climate change.
